Team In Training Kick-Off

Whoo hoo! It's official I am on my way for my first marathon and I am pumped! Okay, I am a little scared and worried I am taking on more than I can handle but I'm determined to push through and make it to the end.

I remember when I signed up for my first Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk 4 years ago and I thought I must be crazy. Granted I practically had to crawl across the finish line but I made it. Over these last 4 years the experience just gets better and better. I'm always learning new little tips on training and preparing better for the walks. So on my 4th year as a walker I excited to experience not just 1 but 2 walks this year in my usual San Diego walk and my 2nd in Atlanta. I am walking in Atlanta with a great group of walkers that I met through twitter and I feel blessed to be part of the team.

So with the Team in Training I’m excited to not only get some great training, fundraising for a wonderful organization “The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society” but I will also get some awesome training for my Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walks and additional fundraising ideas… Win Win!

I will be off training on Monday so check back and I’ll let you know how I’m doing :)

Thank you so much for your support!

March 3rd - Spring in 2 Action

Happy Thursday!

What a wonderful day off :) I was able to sleep in until 8:00am which was quite a treat. Had a nice workout and am starting a new challenge at Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans. Take a look and is a fabulous site and what a great community. You should stop by and take a look around.

I have a partner for this fitness challenge Cynthia and I'm excited to see what we can do as a team. We'll also be doing the hundredpushups.com challenge which should be fun since it appears I can only do 1 proper push up. Looks like I have a lot of work ahead of me.

Also, I had my son say that he'll be joining me on my San Diego 3-Day walk in November. He made my day and I am so proud. What an amazing opportunity and experience I'll be able to share with him. I can't wait to start our training walks and fundraising together. He's looking forward to finding out what I am so passionate about.

So all in all I have had a fabulous day and am off to get a work out in and practice on those push ups. Hope you all have a fantastic evening!

March 2 - $4.03 a gallon for gas ...oh my!

So here I am 2nd day in a row and I'm so excited to get back in the swing of posting again :) I have a couple of quick thoughts I'd like to post and then unfortunately I must be off to get my workout in before I lose all motivation.

I had a couple of thoughts this evening as I was filling my gas tank with $4.03 a gallon gas. The price has gotten out hand and what can I do to cut back on my consumption and get healthier.

Well I'm just going to have to walk everywhere that I can. Although my job is too far away to take a lovely stroll to all my other everyday activities are pretty reasonable as far as a walk is concerned.

I need to train for my walks and marathons I plan to participate in and those walks are going to help me stay on track to a healthier me.

For my jaunts to the grocery store I'll be getting a cute little wagon that I am going to paint pink and spread some Breast Cancer Awareness :) Even though I just about passed out from the price at the pump I am so excited to be getting in some great walking time ... win win!

I'm off to work out and hope you all have a fabulous evening!

March 1 - Hello March Madness!

Just a quick note to apologize for the lack of posts. I have been going through a lot lately and definitely have a pretty full plate.

I'm pretty excited about what this year has in store for me :) I have registered for 2 3-Day Walks this year and am pretty excited. I'll be walking the San Diego 3-Day as I have the last 3 years but have added the Atlanta 3-Day this year and am part of a fabulous team that I met on twitter :)

Although I have the extra fundraising to look forward to I also have some new friendships and new and inspiring motivation to keep me going.

I'm also looking forward to doing our local Race for the Cure and Hoping to get a marathon or two under my belt this year. I have so much I want to accomplish and when I fill "my dash" I want it to be with things that I was passionate about and made me feel like I made a difference.

There have been too many that have had life cut way too short. Too many loved ones are no longer here with us in person but will always be here in heart.

Thank you for visiting and I hope you have a fabulous 1st day of March.

With Much love!
